Husband Comes Home and Asks, “Where’s Dinner?”… His Wife Points at the Fridge, and One Note Leaves Him Speechless

by Admin

After a long day at work, a tired husband finally arrived home.

He walked through the door, dropped his work bag on the floor, kicked off his shoes, and took a deep breath.

There was only one thing on his mind.

Dinner.

But something felt strange.

The kitchen was completely silent.

No pots were bubbling on the stove.

There was no smell of food in the air.

In fact, it didn’t look like anyone had cooked anything at all.

He turned toward the living room.

His wife was sitting comfortably on the couch, watching television with her feet up.

He stood there for a few seconds.

Then he asked, “Honey… where’s dinner?”

His wife didn’t even get up.

She simply raised one hand and calmly pointed toward the refrigerator.

The husband immediately smiled.

“Oh, she must have left something in the fridge,” he thought.

He walked over, opened the refrigerator, and started looking around.

Nothing.

No prepared dinner.

No plate waiting for him.

Then he noticed a large note stuck to the refrigerator door.

At the top, in big letters, it said:

“COOK DINNER.”

The husband blinked.

He read it again.

“Cook dinner?”

Then he noticed something beside it.

A long list of household chores.

Take out the trash.

Wash the dishes.

Fold the laundry.

Clean the bathroom.

Vacuum the living room.

Almost none of them had been checked off.

The husband stood completely still.

Then, very slowly, he turned his head toward his wife.

She was still sitting on the couch.

He pointed at the note.

“What is this?”

His wife looked at him and shrugged innocently.

“I didn’t know what else to do.”

He looked at the chore list.

Then at the kitchen.

Then back at his wife.

She didn’t say another word.

She didn’t need to.

He understood the message.

With a long sigh, he rolled up his sleeves.

First came the trash.

Then the dishes.

Then the laundry.

Then the vacuum cleaner.

Meanwhile, his wife remained on the couch, occasionally glancing over with a very satisfied little smile.

Eventually, the husband returned to the living room.

He stood in front of her with his hands on his hips.

“Done.”

His wife looked up.

“All of it?”

“All of it.”

She smiled and stood up.

The husband pointed toward the kitchen.

“So… dinner now?”

She laughed.

“Okay.”

They started walking toward the kitchen.

But suddenly, the husband stopped.

He turned around, walked back to the refrigerator, grabbed a pen, and added one more item to the bottom of the chore list.

His wife walked over to see what he had written.

It said:

“WIFE COOKS DINNER.”

The husband crossed his arms and gave her a proud smile.

“See? I can leave notes too.”

His wife stared at the paper for a moment.

Then she calmly took the pen from his hand.

Under his sentence, she wrote:

“HUSBAND WASHES THE DISHES AFTER DINNER.”

The smile disappeared from his face.

His wife handed the pen back to him, patted him gently on the shoulder, and walked into the kitchen.

He stood in front of the refrigerator, staring at the note in silence.

Then he looked toward the kitchen and muttered:

“I should’ve just ordered pizza.”

From the kitchen, his wife immediately shouted:

“Great idea! Add ‘PAY FOR PIZZA’ to your list!”

The husband froze.

A second later, he quietly picked up the pen again.

That evening, he learned two things:

Housework is much easier when both people share it…

and never start a note-writing battle with someone who always gets the last line.
